Inception is a 2010 science fiction action film written and directed by Christopher Nolan, who also produced the film with Emma Thomas, his wife. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a professional thief who steals information by infiltrating the subconscious of his targets. He is offered a chance to have his criminal history erased as payment for the implantation of another person’s idea into a target’s subconscious
Inception is one of my favourite films of all time. It is easily one of the best, if not the best film of the 2010’s. Its one I didn’t watch until about 2014 (4 years after release), this was because I was told it’s really hard to follow, the plot is confusing etc. While I wish I didn’t deprive myself of this film, I was completely and utterly blown away when I finally did watch it. This is another film where I can’t really find any negatives about it.
I love the cast in this film. They all have great chemistry between them, they also are brilliantly written. It’s also nice to see them all get a lot of screentime.
The plot is absolutely amazing, I would explain it, but I want you to go and watch this film and make up your own mind. This film is so well written, it is brilliantly paced and it is just genuinely intriguing. Even though this film is nearly three hours long, it absolutely flew by. This just goes to show how great this film really is.
I love the action in this film. The intro fires itself onto the screen and sets us up for whats to come. The various gunfights are thrilling, and very welcomed. The fight scene in the rotating hallway is something that genuinely blew me away. What blew me more away was the fact that it was all made using physical effects. The various scenes using CGI are amazing. It was definately state-of-the-art at the time.
Hans Zimmer scores the music to this film. It binds the film together and helps emphasises certain scenes. The main theme ‘Time’ is beautiful, and it sums up this film perfectly.
Overall, I LOVE this film, especially the ending. I’m not going to mention anything about the ending as I want you to experience it for yourselves. I can’t recommend to see a film more, you WON’T be disappointed.
